Briars Hall is one of the finest country house settings in West Lancashire specifically adapted to hold all aspects of gatherings from weddings and civil ceremonies, charity galas and fund raising events through to smaller family special occasions and celebrations.
The hotel has gained a tremendous reputation for providing tailor made wedding celebrations varying between personal tastes and styles.
Should you be considering holding a wedding or any other event at the hotel, we have three Banqueting Managers with over 20 years experience at Briars Hall between them.
Dedicated Wedding Co-ordination Team
Karen Dobson is our designated wedding co-ordinator.
She has been arranging weddings at Briars Hall for over 10 years and is always available to help with anything relating to your event at the hotel.
Karen's personal assistant is Jayne Higham. Jayne’s role is to help Karen liaise with our excited couples and help collate all event information making sure everything is exactly as you have requested.
Beautifully presented in traditional country house style with a mix of oak panelling and pastoral coloured walls. This is the largest suite the hotel has to offer and overlooks the orchard lawn at the rear of the hotel.
This room holds between 65 and 170 for banqueting and up to 200 buffet style.
Licensed for civil ceremonies up to 200 people
Located in the original building and slightly smaller than the Ellerbrook suite.
This room is beautifully set out with a lounge and conservatory area, which overlooks the water garden and parkland belonging to the hotel.
This room holds between 40 and 100 for banqueting and up to 140 buffet style.
Licensed for civil ceremonies up to 110.
This room is south facing and has been designed to let as much natural light in as possible giving a slightly more modern feel. The Orangery opens out on to the terrace and is ideal for smaller gatherings and exceptionally popular for civil ceremonies.
This room holds between 20 and 60 for both banqueting and buffet style events.

Civil ceremony times 9am-7pm Monday to Saturday & Sunday 9-4pm

Saturday 2nd September myself and my new wife Natalie had our wedding here all day and can say I couldn't of chose a better place to get married. The management/staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly. I like people just to be normal with me as I'm down to earth and they all were and made me laugh as friends rather than just people who worked there. Karen the wedding organiser was superb, Billy are master of ceremonies superb also.
Everyone was from serving the food, reception, bar staff, and so on and they made our day more special than it already was. Thank you so much we really appreciated it what you did for us to go above and beyond to keep us happy. Got given a free bottle of champagne, sandwiches and gift card too which they didn't need to do but did as they are that perfect and so nice! Anything we needed they were onto it straight away. Thank you so much again I can't say enough!
Will definitely be going to the hotel plenty more times in the future as regulars, it's beautiful.

From our first meeting with the wedding team at the hotel we felt completely at ease and loved the venue from that first viewing. The staff there, especially Karen, Billy and Mark made the whole planning of the wedding and the day itself an absolute dream. From keeping us informed of details at the hotel, to making the whole day flow without a hitch and helping us with any questions or requests we had. They made all the guests feel relaxed with a very friendly and homely atmosphere. Every guest at the wedding commented on the hotel and the attentiveness of the waiting on staff and wedding team. The Wedding room on the day looked amazing, from the ceremony, to the change round for the meal during the photos. Then there was the food, gorgeous!! We'd had a couple of meals there in the past and they were all delicious. Cooked beautifully to your liking and plenty of it too. We'd booked several rooms for guests as well as the honeymoon suite; all the rooms were very clean and fresh, with very comfy beds. The honeymoon suite was everything we could ask for and more. Both as a hotel and a wedding venue, you cannot fault them in any way; I would recommend them to any couple looking for a venue and to anyone else for a weekend retreat or just great delicious food.

Been meaning to write a review since our wedding here last year but time ran away with us. Our wedding was the most perfect day ever. Everyone said planning a wedding was stressful and I won't lie we panicked at all we had to do but Karen the wedding lady was a godsend. Karen took all the stress away. She organised everything for us and was always so happy to listen and answer any questions we had. We went back for our tea recently and it was lovely to see that Karen was in and we had chance to reminisce about our fantastic day. Thank you Karen and all the staff for an amazing wedding and a day we will never forget.
My father had his wedding here, and the waiter we had (whose first day it was, he had glasses and brown hair, didn’t catch the name) was the loveliest person ever and was super funny.

We got married here 5 years ago so decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary. It's still a fantastic place, lovely staff & great food. We stayed in the new bridal suite which was really nice. Jacuzzi bath with tv, huge bed & plenty of storage. Spotlessly clean! Might have to treat ourselves again next year!
