Briars Hall
What is the latest outdoor winter wedding at Briars Hall?
For this reason, if you want to get married outdoors despite the chill, the latest ceremony start time we can accommodate is around 6 pm Monday – Saturday (inclusive) or 3 pm on Sundays.
The same applies if you choose to have your ceremony in the Orangery or the Ellerbrook suite.
If you would like more information about ceremony times, feel free to give us a call on 01704 892 368 or fill in our contact form and the Briars Hall team will get back to you.
Are winter weddings popular?
The most popular season for weddings historically has been the summer – but winter weddings are becoming more popular.
This is because:
- It’s outside of peak season – so wedding suppliers will have more availability or very popular suppliers may be free when they otherwise wouldn’t be.
- There’s no humidity – wedding parties with naturally curly hair may appreciate this especially!
- The days are shorter – so wedding days can be shorter, too, and therefore less expensive.
- Some couples really love Christmas – so want to celebrate with festive décor and essentials, like the resplendent Christmas dinner!
- They bring a unique ambience – with spectacular sunsets, more of a contrast between the day and night, and an extra cosy and intimate feel, winter weddings can be very different from those at any other time of the year.

Is Briars Hall warm enough for winter weddings?
With cosy central heating, we can assure you that all of your loved ones will be perfectly content on your special day and might only feel the cold if they choose to go outside to the Pavillion or onto our patio!
If you have any questions about our specialist venues, why not reach out and speak to us? We’ve been hosting weddings for over 50 years and have helped families of all kinds with everything you could think of!
Do we need to have a wedding breakfast as part of the venue hire?
Traditionally, day guests would enjoy a 3-course wedding breakfast after the ceremony and photographs, with speeches making an appearance either before, during, or after.
However, for some couples, tastes for weddings have changed in recent years and those looking to stick with a smaller budget are skipping the sit-down meals in favour of grazing boards, buffets, and snack foods.
No matter what your dream wedding looks like to you, we can include it as part of our bespoke and comprehensive wedding packages to cover only what you love. Even if that includes hundreds of strings of fairy lights!
To enquire about a package, give us a call on 01704 892 368 and we’ll be happy to talk through your ideas with you.
